Garman, James R.
November 17, 1947 - June 15, 2022
James R. "Jim" Garman, 74, of Lititz, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the United Zion Retirement Community. Born in Centerville, he was the son of the late Richard and Ruth Witmer Garman. Jim was the loving husband of Rosene Gerlach Garman and they observed their 53rd wedding anniversary in March of this year.
He was one of the original founders of Elite Coach, Ephrata, a charter bus and tour company; he later founded, with his wife Rosene, Advance Coach Company of Lititz; and they operated the company for ten years. Jim devoted over 35 years in the Motor Coach Industry. Previously he was a driver for Air Products, Lancaster. Jim attended Speedwell Heights Church, Lititz; previously he attended Manor Church, Lancaster.
In his early years Jim was licensed in ordained ministry through the Mennonite Church, and served in ministry at South Christian Street Mennonite Church, Lancaster. Jim was involved in music ministry and volunteered his talents with vocal and instrumental groups through the church. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife Rosene, are two daughters: Marchelle wife of Gary Genasevich of Sugarloaf, Jolene R. wife of John Zeigenfuse of Manchester, MD, a son Jay R. Garman life partner of Beverly Fisher of Tucson, Arizona, eleven grandchildren, two brothers: Glenn husband of Cathy Garman of Manheim, Mervin husband of Linda Garman of East Petersburg, and two sisters: Lois Knauff of Mount Pleasant, and Nancy Minear of Ruffs Dale.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jim's funeral service at the Speedwell Heights Church, 413 West Brubaker Valley Road, Lititz, on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery.
Gehman, Faye A. Peifer
September 22, 1950 - April 11, 2022
Faye A. Gehman, 71, of East Earl, passed away at home on Monday, April 11, 2022. She was married 51 years to David A. Gehman. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Enos R. and S. Arlene Peifer.
Faye had been employed as a seamstress at the former Classic Weddings in Lititz. She enjoyed sewing comforter tops, Word puzzles and reading.
Surviving besides her husband is a son, Jeffrey A. husband of Johanna Gehman of Narvon; a daughter, Julie A. wife of Jeffrey Stutzman of Denver, CO; four grandchildren, Montanna, Jarell, Dalton, and Landen Gehman; two sisters, Janet wife of Ronald Smoker of New Holland, and Brenda wife of Daryl Ebersole of Lancaster; two brothers, Robert husband of Betty Peifer of Jennersville, and Dwayne husband of Karen Peifer of Kirkwood.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 14, at 3:00 P.M. at the Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl, PA with Rev. Brian Martin officiating. Gehman, Martha R. Martin
April 18, 1933 - November 5, 2022
Martha R. Gehman, 89, of Denver died Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Reading Hospital & Medical Center. Her husband of 67 years, Henry H. Gehman, survives.
Born in Ephrata Twp., she was the daughter of the late Amos Z. and Lydia (Rissler) Martin.
Primarily a homemaker, she had also been a seamstress at Moyer's and did housecleaning for others as well. She also was an avid quilter and an accomplished oil paint artist.
She was a member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children: Robert married to LouAnn (Snyder) Gehman, Reinholds, Marion married to Gary Bergey, Morgantown, Florence married to Linford Weber, Fleetwood, Jane married to Brad Weins, Hillsboro, KS and Geraldine married to Ivan Reimer, Meade, KS, 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two siblings: Phares married to Alice (Huber) Martin, Mohnton, Mary married to Earl Horst, Penn Yan, NY.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Titus and Enos Martin.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at 11 A.M. at Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Rd., East Earl with Pastor Tony Witmer officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 11 A.M. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill, is in charge of arrangements.
Geiser, Roger N.
November 14, 1939 - October 27, 2022
Roger N. Geiser, 82 of Kidron died on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Hillcrest Hospital, Mayfield Heights due to a heart issue. He was born near Maysville, Ohio on November 14, 1939 to Tillman & Edna (Saurer) Geiser. His siblings are: Norman Geiser, Alice Hawkins and Dale Geiser. Roger graduated from Waynedale with the class of 1957.
On November 14, 1959 he married Betty Lou Keiner. They celebrated their 62nd anniversary. They were blessed with three children. Son Robert (Laura) Geiser, daughter Pamela (Mitch) Bowers, and son Rick Geiser. Six grandchildren – Jessika (Aaron) Walton, Benjamin Geiser, Matthew Geiser, Brittany (Tyler) LaFave, Tiffany (Rob) Moeller and Brandon (Ashley) Bowers and two great grandchildren Audriana & Cameron LaFave. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Rick Geiser.
Roger worked for Astro Metallurgical Company for seventeen years. His main job was research and development. One of the projects was developing antennas for the Lunar Lander which he accomplished.
In 1979 Roger and Al Strother started G&S Titanium. When Al Strother retired Roger continued to grow the company. G&S Titanium, Inc. was known around the world for some of the special alloys they processed.
Roger loved the challenge of doing or designing products that seemed impossible. He designed and built many of the machines at G&S Titanium.
He also installed solar panels at G&S and had the opportunity to explain to many students and individuals how solar panels generate electricity.
In 2018 Fort Wayne Metals purchased the company and renamed it G&S Metals.
Another interest was genealogy. He started this hobby in 1995 and seriously pursued it through growing the Kidron database and helping the group which has become the Swiss Anabaptist Genealogical Association (SAGA). His interest in genealogy led to adding a room to the Kidron Historical Society which is devoted solely to genealogy. To date over 690,000 individuals are contained in the Kidron genealogy database.
Some community building projects he supported include the Kidron Community Park, Kidron Fire Department, Apple Creek Historical Society, Wayne County Regional (Fire & Rescue) Training Facility and Central Christian.
He also had a deep heart for missions and felt God leading him to support many mission endeavors around the world including Vietnam, Laos, Inspirational Ministries, and Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). Roger was a member of the Kidron Mennonite Church.
Friends may call on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 1-3:00 pm at the Kidron Mennonite Church. Family graveside services will be in the church cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 3:30 pm with Pastor Carl Wiebe officiating. Spidell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Gerber, Dennis
June 15 1921 - December 18, 2022
Dennis Gerber, 101, of Walnut Creek, formerly of Benton, Ohio passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022. He was born on June 15, 1921 near Berlin, Ohio, on the family farm to the late Aden and Sarah Jane (Hochstetler) Gerber.
On June 15, 1948, Dennis married Loretta Miller and they spent 61 years together. Dennis retired from Holmes Limestone in 1983. In his retirement years, he enjoyed landscaping and flower gardening with his wife, Loretta.. He spent many mornings at Boyd and Wurthmann for breakfast where he made many friends. Dennis loved to tell stories of past times and was an engaging and gifted storyteller. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Dennis drove his car until the age of 97 and was able to live at home by himself until the age of 99. In the spring of 2020, he moved to Walnut Hills. Dennis was a charter member of the Millersburg Mennonite Church.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his wife Loretta (Miller) Gerber; a son, Roger Gerber; a daughter, Sandra Gerber; brothers & sisters (in laws), Titus & Esther Gerber, Willis Gerber, Orrie & Lou Ann Gerber, Robert Gerber, John Gerber; Fern & Milton (Gerber) Hofstetter, Dorothy & Danny (Gerber) Weaver, Barbara Gerber, Daniel & Retha Schlabach and James Miller.
Dennis is survived by his daughter Connie (John) Courtney of Benton; granddaughters Amy (Joe) Yoder of Walnut Creek, Crystal (Jr.) Beachy of Berlin; great grandchildren Jaden (Felicia) Beachy, Olivia Beachy, Matthew, Cameron, Hayley and Sophia Yoder; great, great grandchildren Jace, Jax and Macie Beachy; brother David Gerber, sisters Mary (Ray) Norr and Ruth (Aden) Troyer and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses, aides and staff at Walnut Hills for their kind and loving care of Dennis in his final years.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Martin’s Creek Mennonite Church with Pastors Keith and Rachelle Lyndaker Schlabach officiating. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 5-8 pm at Martin’s Creek Mennonite Church and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Barbara Gingerich, age 82 of Nappanee, IN, died at 9:07pm Friday, May 6, 2022 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born on May 3, 1940 to John Henry and Cora Alma (Knepp) Plank in Plain City, OH. Barbara married Alvin D. Gingerich on April 2, 1960 in Goshen, IN. He preceded her in death after 45 years of marriage on July 15, 2005.
Mrs. Gingerich was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She is survived by 3 children: Cynthia (Earl, Jr) Miller of Nappanee, Cora (Lonnie) Miller of Nappanee, and Mark (Sherri) Gingerich of Goshen, IN; 11 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; a sister, Viola De Lance of Florida; and step sister, Mary Ellen Young of Oklahoma.
Mrs. Gingerich was preceded in death by her father; mother; step mother, Edna Plank; stillborn granddaughter, Wanita Miller; 3 brothers: Levi, Danny, and Johnny Plank; and a sister, Katie Aulls.
Friends and family may call at the family residence (70657 CR 3, Nappanee, IN) after 2 pm on Sunday, May 8, 2022 and all day on Monday, May 9, 2022. Clarence J. Gingerich, age 88, of Nappanee, passed away at 9:22 p.m., July 26, 2022 at his residence. He was born October 30, 1933 in Bremen, IN to Joni D. and Sovilla J. (Miller) Gingerich. On April 1, 1954 he married Mary Ellen Yoder in Bremen. Clarence was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Eli C Gingerich 96, of rural Tuscola, Illinois passed away at 3:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Otto Center, ½ mile south of Arthur, Illinois. Bishop Matthew Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur, IL. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 7:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at the Otto Center. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting Eli’s family.
Eli was born on September 26, 1925 in Arthur, Illinois. He was a son of Christian J. and Anna (Brenneman) Gingerich. He married Lydia F. Otto on May 14, 1942 in Arthur, Illinois. She passed away on October 10, 2012.
Eli is survived by four children, Ruby Viola Yoder of South Fulton, TN, Willis Ray Gingerich and his wife Rolene of Goshen, IN, Sarah May Gingerich of Sarasota, FL and Irene Freeman of Tuscola, IL; three grandchildren, Ryan Gingerich, Lisa Gingerich and Nathan Yoder; three great-grandchildren, Leighton, Carson, and Isabelle Gingerich, and one sister-in-law, Katie Ann Schrock of Arthur, IL.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, his wife, Lydia, a stillborn son, one grandson, Derrick Dale Yoder and eight siblings, Esther Chupp, Emory Gingerich, Simon Gingerich, Abraham Gingerich, Sarah Chupp, Menno Gingerich, John Gingerich, and Alpha Miller.
Eli was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He operated Gingerich Pump Shop from 1951 to 1999 and continued to work there until 2020.

Marion M Gingerich 64, of Arthur, Illinois passed away at 3:45 P.M. on Friday, October 7, 2022, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, October 10, 2022, at the HCK West Building, one mile South of Arthur, Illinois. Bishop Larry Diener will officiate. Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery in rural Arthur, Illinois. Visitation will be held any time after 1:00 P.M. on Saturday and any time after 10:00 A.M. on Sunday. Marion was born on March 2, 1958, in Tuscola, Illinois, a son of Merle and Minnie (Yutzy) Gingerich. He married Sovilla Helmuth on May 2, 1978, in rural Arthur, Illinois. They lived in Holy Matrimony for 44 years. To this union were born four sons and three daughters. Duane (Rose Jess) of Goshen IN, Lavon (Amanda Miller) of Goshen IN, Martha (Gerald Schrock) Millersburg IN, Brandon-Deceased, Kristianna (LaWayne Hochstetler) of Arcola IL, Daryl (Kathryn Schrock) of Goshen IN and Jennifer (Jake Schrock) of White Pigeon MI. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren: four brothers; Leonard of Phoenix AZ, Ira (Elsie Jess) of Arthur IL, Paul (Carolyn Chupp) of Atwood IL, and Phillip (Elaine Kauffman) of Millersburg IN, and two sisters; Laura (Dave Miller) of Russellville KY and Fannie (Steve Kauffman) of Arthur IL.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brandon, grandsons, Bryson and Jay, his parents, Merle and Minnie and his stepmother Lizzie.
Marion was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Gingerich, Matthew Karl
February 10, 1993 - January 29, 2022
Matthew Karl Gingerich, age 28, of Conestoga, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 29, 2022. He was born in Bedford, IN, son of Samuel O. and Catherine L. Schnupp Gingerich of Conestoga.
He was a member of Life Mennonite Fellowship of Willow Street where he was on the worship team. He had worked in patient care in the emergency department of the Lancaster General Hospital and volunteered as an EMT. He completed his requirements for a Psychology major from Millersville University, only a few weeks before his passing.
He served on the committee of Life Club of Lancaster. He enjoyed music, playing guitar, sports, especially baseball, football and basketball. Matthew was devoted to his Savior, proclaiming the goodness of Jesus in the midst of his battle with cancer. He impacted many because of his courage and unwavering faith.
Surviving besides his parents are 3 siblings: Amy M. wife of Brandon Wagler of Willow Street, Katie L. & Trenton K. Gingerich both at home, grandparents: Clair & Clara Durksen Schnupp of Dryden, Ontario. He was preceded in death by a brother Ian Michael Gingerich who passed away February 24, 2019.
Funeral service will take place at the Grace Community Church, 212 Peach Bottom Road, Willow Street, PA, on Thursday, February 3rd at 11 a.m. There will be a viewing at Life Mennonite Fellowship, 732 Millwood Road, Willow Street, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Merle A. Gingerich, 87 of Arthur, Illinois passed away at 9:15 PM on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Steve and Fannie Kauffman Residence, 491 North CR 100 East, Arthur, Illinois. Bishop Larry Diener will officiate. Merle was born on April 12, 1935, son of Abe A. and Gertrude (Chupp) Gingerich. He married Minnie Yutzy on November 12, 1953, she passed away on May 31, 1994. He married Lizzie Marie Miller on April 12, 1996. She passed away on September 2, 2018.
He is survived by sons, Leonard Gingerich of Phoenix, AZ, Ira Gingerich and his wife Elsie Jess of Arthur, IL, Marion Gingerich and his wife Sovila of Arthur, IL, Paul Gingerich and his wife Carolyn of Atwood, IL, Phillip Gingerich and his wife Elaine of Millersburg, IN, and daughters, Laura Miller and her husband Dave of Russe Ville, KY, Fannie Kauffman and her husband Steve of Arthur, IL, 34 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, three brothers, Ray Gingerich of Ohio, Melvin Gingerich and his wife Katie of Arthur, IL, and Alvin Gingerich and his wife Mary of North Dakota, and two sisters, Martha Yoder of Iowa, and Fannie Schmucker and her husband Delbert of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Minnie Yutzy and Lizzie Marie Miller, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Fred Yoder.

Ray A. Gingerich, 80, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Otterbein Sr. Living in Gahanna, Ohio.
He was born in Arthur, Illinois on July 12, 1942 to the late Abraham and Barbara (Kauffman) Gingerich and married Lillie (Coblentz) on September 6, 1975. She died on September 16, 2020. He worked as a Handyman in Sarasota, Florida until returning to Ohio in 2020, when he retired. He was a member of Grace Church in Berlin, Ohio and attended Bahia Vista Mennonite Church in Sarasota, Florida. He is survived by his children Phillip (Linda) Gingerich of Mt Vernon, Ohio; Dianna (Matt) Conrad of Pataskala, Ohio; and Brian Gingerich of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; 5 grandchildren; and his siblings, Martha Yoder of Milton, Iowa; Melvin (Katie) Gingerich of Arthur, Illinois; Fannie (Delbert) Schmucker of Mio, Michigan; and Alvin (Mary) Gingerich of Spearfish, South Dakota.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his step-mother Katie (Schrock) Gingerich; brother, Merl Gingerich; sisters-in-law Minnie Gingerich and Lizzie Gingerich; and brother-in-law Fred Yoder.
Services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 2 PM at Grace Church 5750 CR 77, Millersburg (Berlin), Ohio with Pastor Larry Kauffman officiating. Burial will follow in Grace Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 12:00 PM (Noon) -2 PM at the church prior to services. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.

September 30, 1930 - March 21, 2022
Anna W. Good, 91, of Rutledge, Missouri went to be with her lord Monday, March 14, 2022, at her home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2022, at the Millport Mennonite Church near Rutledge, Missouri.
She was born September 30,1930, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Martha Martin. On January 12, 1952, she married Ivan Good. There were 10 children born to this union. Anna was delighted to tell you she had 70 grandchildren, 262 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Ivan Good in 2010; a daughter Esther Good in 2012; her parents; and two brothers, Lloyd Martin and John Martin.
Good, Donald Carl
December 6, 1961 - November 28, 2022
Donald Carl Good, 60, AKA Fred's Lydia's Donnie, passed on to his heavenly home on Nov. 28, 2022, at his home in Honey Brook, PA, surrounded by his family, after his bout with Glioblastoma. He fought the good fight, finished the race, kept the faith.
Born Dec. 6, 1961, he was the only son of Carl and Lydia Stoltzfus Good, Narvon, PA. He is also survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda Weaver Good, 3 daughters: Crystal (Matt Brunk) Birdsboro, PA, Ariel, Danielle Good, at home. A sister-in-law, Beulah Stoltzfus Weaver, TN. 4 grandchildren: Joel, Kallie, Micah and Malachi Brunk, who voted him the best Pawpaw in the world.
He was a member of MCC, Elverson, where he was an elder. Much loved by all the congregation and a friend to all. Donnie was employed at Hoober Inc, Intercourse, PA, as a combine mechanic. He loved his family, friends, and living out his walk with the Lord.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at 2 PM, at MCC located at 4221 Main St., Elverson, PA 19520.
Good, Donald W.
August 24, 1941 - December 28, 2022
Donald W. "Don" Good, age 81, of Landisville, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2022 following a journey with cancer. Don was married to the love of his life, Phebe Martin Good, for 58 years on September 26, 1964. Born on August 24, 1941, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Susie Weaver Good.
Don began his farming career working for Leroy and Edna Beiler. In 1966, Don and Phebe moved to Landisville to farm with Ben & Marian Landis. Don was called to pastoral ministry at East Petersburg Mennonite Church in 1973, working bi-vocationally until 1985 when he began working full-time as the Director of Pastoral Services at Landis Homes Retirement Community. He retired
from Landis Homes in 2010 and enjoyed volunteering for Hospice & Community Care, Lancaster General Hospital and Mt. Hope Nazarene Retirement Community.
Don was an active member of East Petersburg Mennonite Church for 56 years, serving as Sunday school teacher, small group leader, pastoral care volunteer and pastor.
First and foremost, Don was a committed follower of Jesus Christ. Don thrived on relationships and spending time with his family and many friends was very important to him. Don loved to feed people and spent many hours grilling and helping Phebe serve meals on their patio. His grandchildren knew there were always chips in his cupboard, a pack of gum in his pocket, and a
dollar in his wallet just for them.
Don found great joy in the created world and was an avid outdoorsman. He was fascinated with the wildlife in his backyard, marveled at the beauty of sunsets, enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family, got excited about snowstorms, and enjoyed hunting in Bradford County for 40 years.
In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his children: Edward (Rhonda Witmer), Lancaster, PA; LaVonne (Mike Yoder), Milton, PA; Katrina (Jeromy Shenk), Manheim, PA; and Timothy (Amy Neil) McDowell, VA. His grandchildren: Angela (Jeremy Brian), Nashon Good, Marissa Good, Joel Yoder, Karina Yoder, Garrett Shenk (Trisha Miller), Aaron Shenk, Hailey Shenk, Amber Shenk, Zalea Good, Elijah Good, Amelia Good and Creed Good. His great grandchildren: Adley Shenk and Max Brian. Don is also survived by his siblings: Glenn (Mildred Saner), John (Phoebe Widders), Jane (David Hess), Ruth (Jay Todd), Marlin (Barb Nissley) and Robert (Susan Black).
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Don's Celebration of Life Service at East Petersburg Mennonite Church, 6279 Main Street, East Petersburg, PA 17520 on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 3 p.m. There will be a time for visitation with the family on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 68 p.m. at the church and again following the service on Saturday. Good, Dorcas Arlene Martin
July 14, 1938 - October 13, 2022
Dorcas Arlene Martin Good, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022, at VMRC’s Mumaw House in Woodland Park, where she was a resident.
Mrs. Good was born on July 14, 1938, in Hagerstown, Md., to the late Clyde H. and Fanny Horst Martin. Dorcas had a happy childhood; her parents and extended family led by example and teaching, in Christian living and ways of service to God. She became a Christian and was a member of Cedar Grove Mennonite Church of Greencastle, Pa. Her father was drafted by the U.S. government near the end of WWII and took a conscientious objector status with a farm deferment. Dorcas was grateful that her father took this position, which set a strong example for his children. Dorcas’ mother’s family was a singing family. Her grandfather, Samuel H. Horst, was a community music teacher and taught from the Time and Tunes songbook, which was popular at all family gatherings.
Dorcas graduated from Eastern Mennonite High School (Harrisonburg, Va.) in 1956, and from Eastern Mennonite University in 1963 with a BS in Elementary Education. She made a career of teaching in both public and private schools, mostly Kindergarten and First Grade. After retiring from teaching for more than 30 years, she was a Children’s Librarian for a public library in Henrico County, Va.
Dorcas met the love of her life, James M. Good, while attending EMU and they married in 1961. In the early years of their marriage Dorcas and Jim were Voluntary Service leaders in eastern Kentucky working with a small Mennonite church and doing community outreach. They moved to Richmond, Va. in 1969 and lived there 37 years, raising their family and each teaching school in various capacities. Dorcas was involved with many service organizations during their years in Richmond, with Eastern Henrico FISH, an emergency crisis ministry run by local churches, being her primary focus for more than three decades.
She was a member of First Mennonite Church of Richmond where she taught Sunday school, summer Bible school, led worship and hymn singing, and served on the church council and in various outreach activities. In the late 1970s she led the church’s efforts in resettling a refugee family of eight from Vietnam. She kept in touch with them regularly over the years following the church’s formal involvement.
In 1999 Dorcas was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. She was treated successfully for a relapse in 2011.
Jim and Dorcas moved to Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, Va. in 2006. They lived in Park Village, until their recent moves to Crestwood and then Woodland Park, and became members of Ridgeway Mennonite Church. In Harrisonburg, Dorcas volunteered with People Helping People, at Booksavers with children’s books, and with the Virginia Mennonite Conference Center and Virginia Mennonite Missions. She was Ridgeway’s Outreach Commissioner and served on the church council for several years.
Dorcas was diagnosed with a rare lung condition in 2012, which required her to be on oxygen for the past 10 years of her life. As these things forced her to limit her activities, she never lost her positive outlook and desire to continue to care for others and socialize with family, friends, and VMRC residents.
God guided Dorcas’ life in many ways: her 61 year marriage to Jim; her wonderful children and grandchildren; and many teaching and service ministries. Jesus was not only her Lord and Savior but her daily companion. She prayed for her family and others to accept Jesus and give God authority of their lives.
Mrs. Good is survived by her husband, James Marvin Good, of Harrisonburg; children, Cynthia Dawn Good of Columbia, Md., and James Engle Good and wife, Charlene, of Exton, Pa.; brothers, Robert Martin of Lancaster, Pa., Victor Martin of Bronx, N.Y., and Samuel Martin of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Jillian Mason, Kathleen Mason, and Ethan Good.
A memorial service will be held at VMRC in Strite Auditorium on Oct. 26 at 1:30 p.m. A light meal food and fellowship time will be held in VMRC’s Cline Community Center following the service.

Good, Howard Samuel
October 16, 1936 - May 11, 2022
Howard Samuel Good, 85, a resident of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at his home. Mr. Good was born Oct. 16, 1936, in Rockingham County and was a son of the late Marion Samuel and Esther Martin Good.
He was a farmer and also worked as a truck driver who hauled farming commodities for local farmers. In his later years, he was a taxi driver for the Old Order Mennonite Community. He was a member of Bank Mennonite Church.
On Jan. 8, 1956, he married his first wife, Esther Elizabeth Rodes Good, who passed away on Oct. 6, 2009. On Aug. 7, 2010, he married his second wife, JoAnn Carper Knicely, who passed away on Feb. 16, 2016. On May 19, 2018, he married Mabel H. Shirk, who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Catherine Campbell and husband, J.P., of Edinburg, Stanley Good and wife, Thelma, of Rockingham, Carolyn Stoltzfus and husband, Clifford, of Cochranville, Pa., Doris Heatwole and husband, Dale, of Dayton, Grace Hege and husband, Sanford, of Waynesboro and Beverly King and husband, Bruce, of Dayton; siblings, Willis Good and wife, Fannie Bell, Evelyn Landes and husband, Ralph, Raymond Good and wife, Alice, Anna Mary Swartz and husband, John, and Allen Good and wife, Faye; 27 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and numerous stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, and stepgreat-grandchildren from the Carper, Knicely, and Shirk families.
Mr. Good was also preceded in death by a son, Reuben Good.
Ministers of the church will conduct a funeral service Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Bank Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Bank Mennonite Church on Friday, May 13, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Good, Minerva H. Horning

Minerva H. Good, 98, of Ephrata, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. She was born in East Cocalico Township to the late John and Magdalena “Lena” (Hurst) Horning and was the wife of the late Warren E. Good who passed away in 2008.
Minerva was a member of Alive Church. She was a homemaker, a seamstress and had worked for the Ephrata Borough. She enjoyed oil painting, flowers, traveling, spending time with family and friends; playing games, laughing and telling stories
She is survived by two daughters, Ivy J. Martin, Ginger, wife of Dale Martin; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a sister, Laura Zimmerman.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Judy J. Kunkle, a son, Howard A. Good; siblings, Verna Fox, Anna Shirk, Esther Bowman, Lena Zimmerman, and John Horning.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from 1 to 2 pm, at Weaverland Mennonite Church, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl, followed by her funeral service at 2 pm, with Pastor Jeff High officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.

WATERLOO [NY]- Rodney LaRay Good, of Disinger Rd. in Waterloo, passed unexpectedly on September 2, 2022, at the age of one year, one month and 24 days.
He was born July 9, 2021, the son of Anthony and Ruth (Zimmerman) Good.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday (September 7) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Waterloo Mennonite Church, 3028 Miller Rd., Waterloo.
A funeral service will be held Thursday (September 8th) at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Graber, Daniel L.
February 8, 1938 - March 24, 2022
Daniel L. Graber, 84, of Shipshewana, died at 5:30 pm on Thursday, March 24, [2022] at his residence. His death was unexpected and was due to natural causes. He was born on February 8, 1938 in Constantine, MI, to Levi and Lizzie (Bontrager) Graber. On October 25, 1962 in LaGrange County, he married Joanna Troyer, she died January 26, 2020.
Surviving are four daughters, Elizabeth (Douglas) Snow of Southaven, MS, Cristina Graber, Kathryn Graber both of Sarasota, FL, Iva Jean (Tim) Graber of Sturgis, MI; two sons, David (Shari) Graber of White Pigeon, MI, Steven (Anita) Graber of Amelia, VA; 18 grandchildren; a great grandson; sister, Anna (Floyd) Yoder of Shipshewana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Paul Graber; sister, Edith Hochstetler; two brothers, Cletus Graber, and Crist Graber.
Daniel was a member of Fairhaven Mennonite Church and had worked as a farmer and blacksmith for most of his life. He was passionate about horses and became dedicated to horse breeding, he also enjoyed fishing.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, March 28, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 29, at Fairhaven Mennonite Church, Goshen. Services will be conducted by the Fairhaven Ministry Team. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to Fairhaven Mennonite Church.

Katie R. Graber, 83 of Arthur, Illinois passed away at 4:00 AM on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church, 477 IL State Route 133, Arcola, Illinois. Pastor Larry Rocke will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Mennonite Church Cemetery. Visitations will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at the Church. Katie was born on June 6, 1939 in Arcola, Illinois. She was a daughter of Rueben J. and Irma E. (Yoder) Yoder.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane Summers (Randy Thoele) of Teutopolis IL, and Carol Baker (Dennis) of Arthur IL; five grandchildren, Michael McKenzie of Altamont IL, Jacob Ochs (Naomi) of Effingham IL, Natalie Tabbert ( Dylan) of Mode IL, Jessica McKenzie of Atwood IL and Stephanie Harvey (Zach) of Arthur IL; ten great-grandchildren, Brytin, Aniston, and Myla McKenzie, Elly and EJ Ochs, Briana Snoddy, Dawson McKenzie and Zander Rigdon, Adalyn and Faith Harvey and one great-great-grandson, Rebel; two sisters, Anna Yoder of Sullivan IL and Martha Stutzman (John) of Worthington IN; two brothers, Sylvan Yoder (Katie Ann) of Arcola IL and John Yoder (Sarah Ann) of Lovington IL; and three sisters-in-law, Irma Helmuth of Arthur IL, Mary Miller (Marvin) of Arthur IL, and Anna Mae Graber of Kalona IA; and one brother-in-law, Hank Graber (Ella) of Sarasota FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Al Graber; two brothers, Paul and Melvin Yoder; and brothers-in-law, David Graber, Omer Helmuth, and Nelson Yoder.
Katie was a much-loved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother and will be missed dearly by her family and extended family.
Katie was a faithful member of Sunnyside Church of rural Arcola IL. She appreciated everything her church family did for her and the family during her illness.
Katie worked for many years in cabinet shops in the Arthur area. Upon retirement she did taxi work and sewed for Herff Jones. She enjoyed quilting, sewing for others and helping anybody that asked. She was the family get-together organizer and always wanted to make sure the families stayed in touch. There were no strangers in her world, only people she hadn't met.

Graybill, Esther I. Ramer

Esther I. Graybill, 91, of Delphi, died January 1, 2022, at the home of her son Wesley Graybill, where she resided for the past 8 years. She was born to the late Isaiah and Penola Witmer Ramer on January 5, 1930, in Elkhart County, Indiana. Esther married Lester J. Graybill on May 8, 1955, in Goshen, IN. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2005. Esther was a member of the Deer Creek Old Brethren German Baptist Church.
She is survived by five sons: Raymond and Elizabeth Graybill of Logansport, Benjamin and Lois Graybill of Flora, Rollin and Mary Jane Graybill of Delphi, Virgil and Virginia Graybill Trenton, MO and Wesley and Leah Graybill of Delphi. Three daughters: Regina and Denver Brumbaugh of Camden, Vesta and James Morris of Trenton, MO and Sylvia and Carl Morris of Flora. Forty-four grandchildren and thirty-six great-grandchildren. One brother: Robert and Erma Ramer of Goshen, IN. One sister: Viola and Leonard Hartman of Edmonson, TX. Three sisters-in-law: Martha Ramer, Carrie Ramer and Marcile Ramer.
She is preceded by three brothers Amos, Marcus and David Ramer, sister, Lois Martin, two brother in-laws, sister in-law, husband and parents.

Grieser, William John "Bill"
October 5, 1952 - October 8, 2022
William John "Bill" Grieser, age 70, of Wauseon, passed away in his home on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Bill had worked for the former Wagner Motor Sales and then Don's Automotive Group in Wauseon for over 30 years. He also owned and operated the former Grieser Auto Electric for five years and had also worked at O'Reilly's Auto Parts in Wauseon.
Bill was born in Wauseon on October 5, 1952, the son of John W. and Wyonna Y. (Davis) Grieser. On August 9, 1975 he married Joan Kay Fetterman, and she survives. He was a member of the Tedrow Mennonite Church. Bill had served with the Wauseon Police Auxiliary for over 40 years, have greatly enjoyed his time as a crossing guard. He was a also a member of the Fulton County Civil Air Patrol (CAP) for over 50 years, and a lifetime member of the National Threshers Association (NTA) where he was an honorary director. Bill loved his antique tractors and currently had 12!
Surviving besides his wife, Joan, are two daughters, Billie Jo (Doug) Prothero of Wauseon and Kathleen "Katie" (Austin) Grieser of Wauseon; and two grandchildren, Adessa and Trinity Futch. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his Aunt Vivian, Uncle Cecil and Aunt Perscilla.
Visitation for Bill will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, in the Tedrow Mennonite Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 13, 2022, also in the church, with Pastor Doug King, officiating. Interment will be in the Wauseon Union Cemetery. Doris E. Groff, age 86, formerly of Bird-In-Hand, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Landis Homes. She was born in Witmer on March 7, 1936, the daughter of the late Harry K. and Elizabeth Esbenshade Landis.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jay M. Groff of Lititz; 2 children, Patricia (Randall) Ranck of Lancaster, PA, J. Kenneth (Tracy) Groff of Mount Joy, PA; 2 grandchildren, Adam (Megan) Ranck, and Kristie Ranck; 2 great-granddaughters, Meredith and Amelia Ranck; and a sister-in-law Delores Landis. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harry (Beulah) Landis and Elvin Landis.
She was a member of Forest Hills Mennonite Church where she was involved in the sewing circle. She worked at Smoketown Elementary school cafeteria and Bird-In-Hand Motor Inn for 30 years.
Doris was a member of Farm Women #28 and she and Jay enjoyed many years on the farm. She volunteered at Black Rock Retreat and Deer Park Camp, and hosted kids with the Fresh Air program. They enjoyed many adventures with the Green Laurel Hunting Club. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking, and reading.
A memorial service will be held at Forest Hills Mennonite Church, 100 Quarry Road, Leola, PA on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 7:00 PM. An informal visitation will follow the service. A private traditional burial will be held in Stumptown Mennonite Cemetery.
Groff, Elias R.
July 2, 1938 - November 9, 2022
Elias R. Groff, 84, formerly of Holtwood, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Landis Homes Retirement Community. Born in Holtwood on the family farm, he was the son of the late Clayton and Mary (Rohrer) Groff. He was the loving husband of the late Marian (Mohler) Groff for 41 years at the time of her passing.
Elias was a lifelong vegetable farmer. He was a member of Life Mennonite Fellowship in West Willow. He enjoyed hunting in his younger years and enjoyed visits with family and friends.
Elias is survived by 2 children: Steven, husband of Cheryl Groff of Holtwood and Evonne, wife of Lyndon Beiler of Rexville, NY. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren: Dana (William) Thetford, Lauren (J.T.) Schaeffer, David (Naomi) Groff, Emily (Tim) Gingerich, Rachel Beiler, and Hunter (Makayla) Beiler. He was preceded in death by a son, Myron Groff; a granddaughter, Sarah Beiler; and 6 siblings.
A Funeral Service will take place at Life Mennonite Fellowship, 732 Millwood Road, Willow Street, PA on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service in the Rawlinsville Mennonite Cemetery. Jay M. Groff, 91, a resident of Landis Homes, formerly of Bird-In-Hand, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Born in Bird-In-Hand on May 8, 1931, he was the son of the late Martin R. and Edna M. Groff.
He was the husband of the late Doris E. Landis Groff for 67 years, who predeceased him on April 19, 2022.
He is survived by 2 children, Patricia (Randall) Ranck of Lancaster, PA, J. Kenneth (Tracy) Groff of Mount Joy, PA; 2 grandchildren, Adam (Megan) Ranck and Kristie Ranck; 3 great granddaughters, Meredith, Amelia and Laurel Ranck; and sister-in-law Delores Landis.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Irene (John B.) Noll.
Jay was a lifetime farmer. He also worked at Denlinger's Paving and Nolt's Feed Mill. He was a member of Forest Hills Mennonite Church.
He enjoyed hunting, and traveling with the Green Laurel Hunting Club. He enjoyed volunteering with Sertoma International. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
A memorial service will be held at Forest Hills Mennonite Church, 100 Quarry Road, Leola, PA on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 7:00PM. An informal visitation will follow the service. Groff, Richard G. "Dick"
February 27, 1938 - December 2, 2022
Richard G. "Dick" Groff, Sr., 84, of Lititz, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 2, 2022 at UPMC Lititz. He was the loving husband of Mildred M. (Meyer) Groff, and they celebrated 65 years of marriage last spring. Born in Terre Hill, he was the son of the late Harold W. and Mary (Gentzler) Groff.
Dick worked as a farmer most of his life. He was a member of Erb Mennonite Church, Lititz. His hobbies included hunting, woodworking, and especially cooking.
Surviving in addition to his wife "Millie" are four sons, Richard G., Jr. (Dianne), McClure, Clair E. (Justina), North East, MD, John D (Rachel) Bellville, and Nevin L. (Roseann), Lititz; four grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers Donald E. (Arlene), Stevens, Kenneth D. (Irene), Myerstown, Marvin (Annalois), Terre Hill; and a sister Martha Burkholder (Richard), Stevens.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at United Zion Retirement Community, 722 Furnace Hills Road, Lititz, on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Gunden, Donald E.
June 11, 1925 - March 23, 2022
Donald E. Gunden, 96, of Myerstown, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Pro Medica Lebanon, He was the widower of Elsie A. (Zimmerman) Gunden who passed away December 29, 2013. Born in Flanagan, Ilinois on June 11, 1925, he was a son of the late Christian J. and Agnes A. (Albright) Gunden.
Donald was a 1943 graduate of Goshen High School, and attended college at Goshen College in Indiana. He was a member of Akron Mennonite Church, an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed traveling. Donald worked as a salesman at Great Dane Trailers Lancaster, PA, for 20 years and retired in 1982.
He is survived by two daughters, Marilyn J. Gunden of Myerstown and Bonita L. Gunden of Amarillo, Texas; two sons Donald K Gunden, of Goshen, Indiana and Douglas E. Gunden, of Myerstown; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Doris wife of Carl Metzler. There are also multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Orville, Cleland, Elton, and Ralph Gunden, and sisters Elva Huneryager, Lois Clemens and Ruth Gunden.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in Grose Funeral Home, Inc., 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA 17067. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 A.M. at Akron Mennonite Church, 1311 Diamond Street, Akron, PA 17501. Interment private at the convenience of the family.
